Welcome

Dear Grand Blanc Academy All Star Families;

I hope you have enjoyed this summer. As usual, we have been working hard to plan on your child’s return. It will be another great year of igniting growth, imagination, and dreams. When you return you will see a sparkle and shine to the entire building. The hallways have been painted a nice fresh blue.  New flooring has been installed in almost all the classrooms. We are still busy taking enrollments and creating class lists. If you have friends or family that have talked about enrolling but have not yet taken the initiative, please encourage them to do so quickly. We have several grade levels that are nearly full! Your child’s classroom assignment will be posted at Open House. Teacher’s return on August 21″ for training and preparation. Please note the Board of Directors has also approved the school calendar.  Every Wednesday is an Early Release Day. This is planned for teachers to continue to have Professional Development on a weekly basis so we can provide the best instruction for your child!

We will be offering afternoon latchkey for a fee this year. If you are interested in checking into this please call the main office for more information.

Our Open Houses are scheduled on:

Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 8-10 in the morning and 5-7 in the evening. We have tried to accommodate your working schedules by offering a morning and an evening session.

Classroom assignments and Bus lists will be posted during the Open Houses

Dismissal signs and car signs will also be available for pick-up

Please note that this event is a meet and greet and that we will have a Family Night later in September to review the school expectations to build a stronger school community!

The teachers have created a generic list for Elementary and Middle School supplies. A more specific list will be available in the classrooms at Open House.

Recommended Elementary Supply List:

  • Backpack
  • Loose leaf lined paper (grades 2 and up)
  • Composition Notebook
  • 24 pack crayons
  • Markers
  • Glue sticks
  • Kleenex
  • Disinfectant Wipes
  • Hand Sanitizer (pump style)

Recommended Middle School Supply List:

  • 6 packages of WIDE ruled, loose leaf notebook paper
  • 6 one subject spiral notebooks (please make sure they are separate notebooks)
  • 1 large zip up binder to keep all materials in (optional but recommended)
  • 3 – 1 inch binders (Science, Math, and Reading) to be left in the room
  • Colored ink pens for science notes
  • Highlighters any color
  • Mechanical pencils (LOTS)
  • 5 different colored pocket folders
  • Sticky notes
  • Colored pencils
  • Markers
  • Glue sticks
  • Crayons
  • Zip up pencil case
  • Kleenex (please bring in 2 boxes to share with the class)
  • Hand Sanitizer

I know I have included a lot of information, but there is so much more to share. Please make it a priority to attend so that you have all the information you need to get started for the year!
